The Audacity of Doubt
Do not be swept away by the promise of the future. As always, the future will betray you. The eros of bipartisanship will fail just as the promise of heterosexual monogamy for homosexuals. There is no equality to be had in the pleasant promise of domestic partnership; there is no compromise with the Right who seeks to destroy you.
The extremes moves the center; the transgressive extreme should worker harder now against the unhealthy preservatives of culture.
As Obama promises to unfurl the banners of faith, remember faith destroys what is. It is the end of what we could be.
